Bluetooth phone disconnecting all the time.
Is anyone else having trouble with their phone unexpectedly disconnecting from the Sync. My first suspicion was that my phone wasn't working properly so I bought a new phone. The new phone didn't help but it does work fine with my Acura. (my first phone worked fine with the Acura as well)

Mine will occasionally disconnect and not reconnect. I have an iPhone 4 and it works by just restarting the phone.

whenever mine does this i have to manually turn off the bluetooth on my phone and then turn it back on... then search for the phone again with my sync and it works fine. it does this probably 2-3 times a week. I have a samsung galaxy fyi

Both my wife and I have the EVO Shift. She has a 2011 Mustang GT. The phones disconnect all the time in both vehicles. Before the EVOs, she had a Samsung and I had an iPhone. Nether phone ever disconnected. We thought it was the phones, so I ask the HTC support folks for help. I got a "corporate" answer of "there is no standard for bluetooth connections, blah, blah". After seeing the comments from others, I'm not convinced it is the phone now. Be interesting to see if an update is provided to the Sync.

I never had a problem until recently. I have a droid, and verzion told me to take it to the dealer for them to update the system. Im going to try that. very annoying, and for the price, the thing should work properly

My android did this all the time. My iPhone 4 never disconnects. I believe it has something to do with the android operating system.

Yes.
Ford is aware of this but their service techs have no clue. It's a bug in the phonebook system. Delete your phone and re-add it, this time without the phonebook. Your problem will be solved. Then go to Ford's Sync website and download the address book tool. Follow the instructions and Ford's workaround patch will solve your immediate problem. Downside to this 'patch' is that you have to do it over every time you add another contact to your phone. The cause of this isn't totally revealed, but some sources say it's because of either duplicate entries in the phonebook or links to facebook within the phonebook. This effects both Android and the iPhony. |

If you have another Bluetooth device paired with your droid it will disconnect from sync until you shut the non-sync devise.
