HD RADIO??

I posted this question on another forum but have not heard from anyone yet. Can anyone with a 2011 SD tell me if these trucks have HD radio in them, or is this something you need to request? Maybe this is a silly question, but my wife asked me and I do not have an answer.
Thanks, Chris

No they do not have HD Radio built in. But there is a thread in the 6.4 Elec section that has to do with adding components so that HD radio will work on the stock radio. Hope that makes sense. I will see if I can find the link and post back...

I am going to add the components myself, but just have not gotten around to it yet.

The 2011 with the premium sound system package comes with HD Radio.
However, if you live in Canada such as myself, you cannot listem to HD Radio as they do not broadcast HD Radio in this region. (U.S. only)

My 2011 with NAV has HD Radio. I was just wondering what the difference is?

The HD radio just offers additional stations that broadcast on the same frequency as others. If you hit the HD function on the media screen it will show if the channel has other HD channels. It will pop up a box in the upper left corner that says "Multicasts" with numbers 1 through 8 underneath. If you hit the button it will cycle through the different HD stations broadcasting on that frequency. Kind of cool.

Good to know. I didn't even know it was possible to multicast on FM.

I love this HD radio! Heard a lot about it but never experienced it until now and the quality and sound is amazing. The extra channels gives you the same music without as much DJ B$ or commercials.
