Never thought of that idea. I wonder how hard it would be to do this.

But how cool would that be?!!.. No matter were your at you'd always have power to power anything!!.. friend#1 ," hey guys I forgot the generator at the house".. friend#2, "looks we're have to do things the old fashioned way here at the deercamp this weekend"..you(feeling like a baller), "no problem fellas, I just happen to have generator installed in my truck!!." |

I wonder how the pto would work on a farm??

I thought it was just a power inverter not a generator.
I'm assumng it will be fairly low wattage. Maybe run a computer, TV, hair dryer for the chicks, etc.

wonder if they had the foresight to make those PTO goodies backward-compatible with older Super Duty's?

Isn't it just the PTO port on the side of the tranny, letting you choose what you want to hook up to it, a generator being one option? My 07 manual trans has the PTO port, a genny for it is like 6k installed.... OUCH

just another way to beat the tree huggers..... Now not only can you fit a electric car in the bed of a superduty but now you can even charge it. Or better yet they could offer this for a tow truck to allow some stranded electric car user to stay with in extention cord reach of the tow truck and travel down the road.
