billowing white smoke?

A quick question, I had billowing white smoke coming out of the exhaust this morning. Is this possibly from a regen? once I got off the freeway to check it out the smoke stopped? and did not come back again even when I got back on the freeway.
I have a F450 but the cpu does not tell me when the engine is in regen.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

here is a bump for ya man. Hopefully its nothing serious. Maybe you got some water in your fuel or something. Unless your egr cooler is going out, but i haven't heard of that on a 6.4 yet.

It's from the regen. If you go in for the computer reflash "Customer satisfaction flash" 08b07, it will update your truck, and it won't smoke during regen, as well as tell you the regen status.

yup my dads 08 450 did the same stuff and he had the reflash done and it stopped it...the new flash doesnt allow for it to go to regen while driving. only at an idle..

Question greenhorn? Im about to install the b+w flip over gooseneck in my dads 08 for him this weekend.On my 07 i had no clearence problems with my exhuast but im hearing on his i will have to extend the hangers.did you have to do that?

The kit for his truck should come with an extender. It goes onto the last hanger at the back of the truck. It pushes the exhaust down 2-3 inches. The exhaust looks kinda dumb(being closer to the ground), but I have had zero clearance issues driving(off road, highway back roads, etc)

I think you got that last part switched. It regens while driving, not at idle anymore, which helps save a little fuel.

Actually it is the make everyone wreck behind you because of the EPA option
