billowing white smoke?

A quick question, I had billowing white smoke coming out of the exhaust this morning. Is this possibly from a regen? once I got off the freeway to check it out the smoke stopped?
I have a F450 but the cpu does not tell me when the engine is in regen.
Any help would be appreciated

I have heard of white smoking with some of the older calibrations (the ones before they had the "Cleaning Filter" message). I would definitely go and get the newest calibration if I were you. You will get the filter message, which will tell you if you are in fact in regen, and also I seem to remember that they solved some smoking issues during regen. Depending on how old your calibration is you might still have the possibility of shooting giant scary flames (really cool actually) out of your tail pipe. The newer calibration doesn't even regen at idle any more. So there is less chance of setting fire to your neighbors cat. Seriously though, regenerating at idle was a major cause of getting fuel in your oil. The regen process works better at hiway speed any how, and it tends to not have the fuel-in-the-oil problem.

its normal on the old program. Take the truck in for the reflash (its free). Not only will it start to tell you when its in regen, but you won't get the smoke.
