Blown Up Pipe... Questions.

I after hearing a loud exhaust leak and increased EGT's I crawled under the truck and found the driver side up pipe blown at the bellow. I was hoping it was the EGR pipe but it wasnt... So I have a few question...

I was quoted the following:

6.0 manifolds and up pipes: Anywhere from 2700 to 3500
6.0 manifolds, up pipes, oil cooler, and studs: 6000

Truck only has about 44K miles on it. Had the HPFP replaced a few thousand miles ago. My first question is about the pricing on the quotes, do they seem fair? Good reputable shop.

Do I need to do the oil cooler? I can see maybe a remote cooler or something, bot really educated on oil cooler issues.

I have right at about 6-7 grand I can spend. But since I'm going to have to get the cab lifted and everything I'd like to do the manifolds, up pipes, studs, and probably a 71 mm...

What do you guys think?

I think your getting hosed.....and you dont need 6.0 manis. Look at the prices for the parts with Elite Diesel. Cab removal/install costs me $650.00 from my local ford dealer. I would do studs, new 6.4 up-pipes, and a 71mm turbo with your money......and still have some left to start your transmission build.

Looks like i can get turbo, studs, gaskets, up pipes for around 3 grand, about 2200 once I get my core refunds. Just have to talk to my local dealer and see what he thinks.

That is a a lot for those parts. Check out Rudy's or dark horse diesel for the up pipes. As stated 6.0 manifolds are not needed but I do recommend them for reliability and flow. I have pics of how bad the 6.4 manifolds are. I would say studs, 6.0 manifolds, up pipes, ported intake manifold and a 71 or 72 turbo. You can find 6.0 manifolds for cheap in the for sale section.
