08 6.4 fuel mileage

08 F250 6.4 fuel mileage! when i bought this truck i was getting 13.4 then it dropped to 11.0 for awhile. it started to get better going up to 15.4 then back to 11.0. i had the dealer put in 2 updates mileage went up to 16.7.
now down to 10.5 again. my mileage drops after i do any towing. the computer never seems to recover after a heavy load on the truck. has any one had this promblem before?

I am running stock and have yet to tow with it but I drive my 6.4 like i stole it. On the highway I run 30lbs. of boost constantly and the best milage i see is 10.5 to 11.5 depending on cold weather idle.

The computer has adaptive learning and will adjust to the operators driving style, it will readjust after you finish towing

I get around 19.5 or so average over a long trip at 70 mph. Before regeneration kicks in it's normally 21 to 22 mpg. This depends on the wind as a head wind will knock it down to 18.5 or there about.

Towing I was getting 10 mpg until lately. I took some stuff out of my camper that had built up over the last year and the last tow of 1100 miles the average was over 11 mpg. Still need to do some lighting of the load a bit.

I never noticed a long recovery period. I reset the mpg meter at the start of a trip.
