Rear U-joint

Hey guys! Rear U-joint has started making noise and I am about a hr drive from civilization. Can a guy drop the rear shaft and drive it home in "Front" 4WD to limp it home? Not seeing that it would be an issue but want to check first.

Thanks guys!!
