08 f450 quit running during regen mode

I have an 08 450 with 78,000km. I've been told by ford to not shut the vehicle off if it is in regen mode. I've followed their instructions and have had few running related issues. Today I left it running as it was in regen mode and when I returned the truck was not running. Some how it stalled out at some point and now will not start at all. I pulled the engine codes, cleared codes and all coded again. Codes are P0101, p179a, p0670, p0488, p0684, p0691, p0091, p0003, p1000. Stranded, frustrated and looking for assistance.
Thanks for your time

All the codes I can find definitions of are pointing towards ECM failure.

Rather interesting advise from your dealer to not shut it off during regen. Every dealer/tech I have talked to has said there is no harm in shutting off the engine during regen.

Any more news on the issues you are having?

HELP

I have an 09 6.4l with a bully dog triple g tuner. Well before I put the tuner on I was having trouble with my regen process. Well after putting the tuner on and about 1k miles my regen kicked on and then said failed, stop truck safely and shut down (this is great at 65 mph on a 4 lane hwy in traffic, real F'in safe). The truck wouldn't power on but wouldnt do anything as far as turning the engine over. Does anyone know what the hell happened?

Right now the truck is at ford with no engine codes and nothing more than my story to explain it to them as. By the time the tow truck dropped it off at the dealer it would start back up just fine.

Anyone had this happen? If so it this a ford problem with this whole regen process or something to do with the tuner???

Thank for the help.

I had the same thing happen to me as well. It put out some back pressure codes but I think that when it went into regen that the filter got to hot and shut the truck off. After I got it to the dealer about 1 hour later it started right up. I got a used SCT but no filter delet (Im gessing I didnt give him enought money???????) and still getting code U0100. I'm looking into buying a spartan with cat/filter delet pipe to see if I can stop the codes.

Thanks for the reply Coffaro

Yeah mine started after about an hr, but the only code I had was 2002 (which is the filter is below threshold) I have no other codes

I heard back from ford who wanted to void my warranty due to the airaid filter/intake, they have since changed their tune once I called and told them to not touch my truck I would take it else where (they were supposedly working on some big price list that it was going to cost me???) after telling them I had contacted airaid they then changed to oh well do you have the stock set up? if so bring it by and we can do it all under warranty. So this doesnt sound to me like there is anything wrong with the intake they just wanted to point the finger at something they know they have a problem with.

The place I bought my truck paied ford to put the factory intake back on (almost 900.00) and I'm still getting codes. I havent found a good dealership in the DFW are yet. Ever time I take my truck in as soon as they see the ext or intake they say its going to cost me becouse the aftermarket voided my wany.

The truck will NOT regen at idle, must be moving. If you arrive at your destination while a regen is in progress then leaving it idling is probably the worst thing you can do.
