Updated radiator hose questions

Updated radiator hose questions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know that Ford updated the 6.4 radiator hoses to be double O-rings in lieu of singles some time back. Were ALL THREE hoses updated ? I know in confidence that the upper hose part # AC3Z-8260-A was updated as I picked that one up from my local stealership yesterday. They did not have the lower hoses in stock for me to look at. I am going to go to another stealership today and get the balance of what I need. Were BOTH lower hoses updated or do I just need one as I have found conflicting information.

The part #'s for the lower hoses are AC3Z-8286-A and AC3Z-8286-B

Some info lists AC3Z-8286-A to be the only lower hose updated. Is this correct ? Do I only need to replace the upper hose and the one lower ?

Replace both.

The updated version for both are white going into the block.

My 2010 had the upper updated but not the lower and it was one of the last truck assembled in Kentucky for 6.4.

Btw the lower was leaking and I had pressure problems since it was bleeding out small amount of coolant.

Only reason dealership found it was they ran dye to check for leaks

OK. I went to my local dealership and had them pull all three(3) hoses. ONLY TWO ARE UPDATED. The upper and one of the lower sections(half hose that connects to the engine) The lower half hose that connect from the radiator has NOT been updated by Ford.

UPDATE HOSE PART #'s

AC3Z-8286-A and AC3Z-8260-A

not to high jack your thread but I'm doing a radiator swap soon and want to change my hoses while I'm at along with T'stats, question is, is there a better place to buy the Hoses and T-stats aside from the stealerships?

I got a Gates set at a local auto parts store, the guy claimed Gates made them for Ford. So far so good with mine. I think I saved $20.
