Cab Popping

Real quick question for anyone who might have encountered this problem of cab noise.

Just had the cab off of my 08 FX4 Crew Cab in order to get a new engine put in (scratches in 2 cylinders) and it runs great now. My problem is the fact that since I have had the truck back it has been making a lot of popping sounds inside the cab as I go down the road (especially over bumps). I am pretty sure it has something to do with the cab mounts, but I was wondering if any of you guys on this forum have ever had or heard of any issues with cab popping noises and if so is there an easy fix. If not I will take it back up to the Ford house and they can fix it (great dealer and they will have no issue with it).

Thanks guys.

Check the cab mount bolts yourself.....after my cab was re-installed, I had the same issue. I found the left center mount (under driver's floorboard) loose. The weld on the nut had broken loose when the bolt was re-installed. The technician didn't say anything about it and just left the bolt loose. I tried to tighten it myself but the bolt just kept spinning. I could not get to the nut, so I took it back to the dealer and they took care of it.

Jason...Thanks for the response. I went out and checked all of the bolts and they were all tight. I guess I will just take it back down to the dealership tomorrow and have them take a listen and look. Again thanks.

there is 8 cab bolts , something definitly not tight , only way to now for sure is to put a wrench on it , its possible the nut spun inside the holder in the body also , then it wont tighten right

Lots of times it will be that the doors do not latch tightly enough...mine makes the same kind of noise on rough roads, and it is just that the driver's door has gotten a little sloppy...
