When tensioners go bad!

I knew before I got my exhaust and programmer I'd need a new belt since the edge was looking a bit worn and from research figured I'd need a new tensioner also. I figured I had awhile to get it taken care of. Well last Monday I went to leave Houston to head back to work (260 mile drive). I was about 6 miles away from the house when my battery light came on and I lost all power steering and brake pressure which happened once before minus the battery light. I made it into a gas station parking lot and let me tell you that turning 35s with no power steering is not easy lol. Well I thought initially maybe my batteries were bad then no it's probably alternator so I get out to check under the hood and I have about 1/4" of belt left and it's off the idler pulley with the rest shredded everywhere. I didn't have time to mess around changing it myself since I had to get to work and I had no tools with me so I found a place close by that did it for a reasonable price. The tech also had a F250 so he was pretty familiar with the trucks and he gave me my tensioner back which was indeed bad. I suspected it from the start and told him about it. Here it is. Still jammed up forever. Damn.
