How to replace radiator?

Anybody know the basic procedure for removing/replacing the radiator on a 6.4?
Mine has the dreaded leak and I'm out of warranty. I'm not paying the dealer $500 in labor to replace it.

Just bought it used, 51k miles. Not covered under diesel or powertrain warranty.

Sorry to hear that..I thought the 100k warranty covered it regardless of new or used..guess you learn something every day. Good luck with it

I just had my radiator replaced last week under warranty. I was told by the dealer that there had been some problems with the 6.4 radiators and a number of them had been replaced. I would speak with the service manager and explain what is being discussed on this forum. It may help. Can't hurt. I have had items replaced by Ford on other vehicles that were "out of warranty" on problem issues.

With all the problems Ford has had with their radiators I would be amazed if they refused to replace you'rs. I'd be willing to bet If you complain enough they will replace it at no charge.

yeah, I thought there was actually a service bulletin out regarding this.

not a recall that I am aware of, but definitely worth talking to the service manager about, or maybe your sales person if you bought it used at a dealership.

Go in and talk to the dealer. If that fails call Ford and tell them that you are aware that this is a recurring issue for them 95% of the radiators are splitting on the seams, so they should replace them.

Worked for me.

The 100k enegine/powertrain warranty is a transferable warranty to new or used.
