Regen Turbo Spudder

My truck went into regen mode yesterday and usually whenever the boost goes up and I let off the throttle the vgt's churp a few times. I did it after coming up to a stop sign and it was maybe 15+ boost and didn't do it as all. After that happened the turbos started spuddering and squealing a bit. I went out later to take it for a drive and it was fine. Turbo spooled fine, no check engine light, nothing. Any ideas??
