oil cooler problems

I've read and read and read post about cleaning the cooling system but still having trouble*truck went in for head studs and new gasket and new oil cooler (eot 255 before)Well I did a flush with vc9 and zerex super cleaner before it went to the shop, but I couldn't get the temp high enough for the chemicals to work (no thermostats), any ways the new cooler is already getting clogged (eot 230) and ive tried a cascade flush 4 times (1/2 box each time 2 boxes total) twice with no thermostat (act won't get higher than 150 sitting and 110 driving) and twice with thermostat and still have high eot.Should I get ready to change oil cooler again??Was gonna try some simple green also,*How common is it to have oil cooler trouble so quickly after changing one

The cooling system should have been flushed and cleaned out before your new oil cooler was installed. If it wasn't, and you're trying to clean it out now, the chemicals are causing the built-up scale to flake off the insides of your cooling system (which is what it's supposed to do), and they get caught by your oil cooler. That crap floating around in your coolant was likely the same thing that clogged your first oil cooler, and the root cause of the oil cooler problem (dirty cooling system) wasn't fixed, it's causing the problem again.

That's my take on it anyway.

I did the vc9 flush before this cooler was installed, but I'm thinking it didn't get hot enough for it to start working right

I flushing it hard now before it goes back for another cooler, gonna put another 50 miles on this cascade run then flush and put a few gallons of simple green and put a 100 miles on that might do a couple times
