Turbo Noise

Well got a friend with a job 3, has the 1.22 tune. He was towing last week and it kept blowing the boot off the intercooler. Now the says he thinks the turbo is going out. At high boost it has a high pitched squel like a bearing or something. Anybody had this problem. The truck has about 9,500 miles.

I had a squealing noise under boost that the dealer could not locate without removing the cab for access. Ford had them replace just about all of the exhaust and egr piping since they could not test for the noise with the cab removed. Luckily it fixed it and they didn't have to remove the cab again. Too bad the dealer broke one of the cab mount bolt nuts loose from the body and left it that way. Had a terrible popping noise over bumps until they were able to somehow hold the nut in place to tighten the bolt.
