Buying One ??

I am thinking of trading my 5.9 Cummins in on a 6.4 psd. What common problems am I going to have and I mean what are the EXPENSIVE ones?
Thanks

Well the high pressure fuel pump is on the rear of the engine above where the engine and tranny meet, can't replace that without removing the cab. Since you have the cab off you might as well replace up pipes, oil cooler, and stud it. Then you might as well dump a few more $$$ here and there. Got a truck fund? Might not need it but you might so.

Don't and they are all expensive. I've got an 08 and it's in the shop at least once every 3,000 miles. I have the platinum extended warranty and I'm putting it to the test right now. As soon as it gets out of the shop it's gone.

I WOULD KEEP THE 5.9 OVER THE 6.4 ALL DAY LONG, AND AM A DIEHARD FORD GUY AND HATE DODGE. THE 6.4 IS A NEWER 6.0. PIECE OF **** PROBLEMS. IF U WANT A FORD GET A 7.3, MAYBE A 6.7

Well thanks guys. I will not be getting a 6.4. I will keep driving the good old 5.9. Made my mind up after watching a YouTube on lifting the cab. Not that the 5.9 is perfect either cause it has it own problems too. I have already fixed everything on my truck and it's pretty solid now and I don't want to go through that with another truck. Thanks again.
