First problem. Hope it's not first of many...
Okay, bought a new to me 08 F350. Knew it was As-Is, but fortunately I live in AZ and we do have some recourse. Before hitting 15 days or 500 miles, my check engine light comes on. Hooked up a code reader, and it's code P0194.
Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor erratic. NICE! Just replace the $35 sensor. Not a bad problem necessarily... Oh wait... it's inside the valve cover. WTF? So I take it back to the dealer, and let them know that they have to fix it. Salesmonkey believes that I have to pay for it since I bought it "As-Is"
I then inform him of Arizona Lemon Law which states that if any major component fails before the earliest of 500 miles or 15 days, the repair must be handled by the dealer. He tries some BS about their shop is booked until Monday and to come back then. I then inform him that, "I have not signed the finance paperwork, and WILL NOT sign it with the vehicle throwing any check engine code, as I do not want to pay for a vehicle that I will have to fix before I can drive it."
Funny, how the manager straightened him out after I said that. Makes me a little angry that I had to hold the cash hostage to get it though.
Now, I understand no vehicle is perfect, and chances are I'll be fixing stuff anyway, but I am pretty sure that with just over 100k miles, I'll be all right. I'm looking into aftermarket radiators though that are tig welded aluminum though, as it seems there were a few issues with radiators.
