Never get better than 11MPG!!

So my truck now has 15000 miles on it and I know the milage stinks to begin with but I have been reading posts for months now and most of you seem to at lest reach 14-16 at some point. I have never even come close to 12 and that is mixed travel with 50% towing small tool trailer. So my question is, is there something wrong or with my truck? if I bring it in to have it looked at what should I have them check? I don't know how much longer I can afford this. I am filling up 2 times a week at $165 a pop HELP!!!

That's crazy!

What do you have? We have a F450 6.0 like that but it's loaded all the time.

wow that sucks, im getting a consistant 14.2 in town, towing my camper on highway 17-18 and empty on the highway 22 in my 250. my buddie has a 450 and complains of 12mpg bests. i was told when i first bought mine and everyone was complaining of the mpg to keep the boost below 15 and the rpm under 2k when taking off from stops and keep the speed moderate on the highway. good luck man

It is a Job1 f-250 srw LB 4x4 stock. I now have 26000 miles and still have never been above 12mpg. I average about 10 no matter how I drive it

id say get rid of the dpf if your willing to and get a spartan tuner on there...ive heard of pretty good mileage gains with it

What gears do you have? Rpm plays a HUGE roll in economy on these trucks. Also, are you using a fuel additive at all?

I have 3.73 with stock 20" tires f-250 crew LB. I don't even bother calculating the mileage anymore it's too depressing...
