95 mph code????

Hey all,

I had the Check engine light go off last week and took it to the dealer and they said it was a code saying I went 95 MPH of over. They said if there is a problem with the engine it would not be cover due to misuse. Has anyone ever heard such a thing?

if you hit the speed limiter, it stores a code. however it wont throw a CEL.

The cel was for one of the probes in the exhaust. Not sure what one, will find out when I get the truck on Tuesday.

So let me get this straight. The truck has a limiter at 95 mph. If you go over 95 mph it voids the warranty. That's sounds like BS to me. How much over 95 did you go?

you cant go over it, you run into it
the truck stores a code. think of it this way, if you tossed a rod out the block, and they pull a code that sh ows at the same you, you had the throttle pinned, doing almost 100, they are really going to warranty anything?

I have had the code many times stores in the PCM but no CEL. The Exhaust has thrown a couple of CEL in teh recent past.

HaHaHa, I'd like to see them try to refuse warranty for that. The 95 mph limit is the safe speed of the tires. The rpm at 95 is nowhere near maxed out.

Well thats part of the problem...I never went that fast. The GPS in my truck says the fastest I have gone was 86. Not that they asked for proof, I showed them the GPS. At this time they are not refusing anything.
