bad output shaft?

Hey guys, I have a small issue with my 08 350. When coming to a complete stop, I can feel a strange clunk, like the rear end is sloppy. When taking off I feel the same clunk. I opened up the rear end to find no real issues, there was some play but nothing excessive. Worked my way up the driveshaft, nothing loose there. Once I got to the tranny I noticed this is where the play was coming from. I can turn the drive shaft a good half inch back and forth, which leads me to think my problem is originating from the output shaft. Is this a common problem? The truck was used for plowing before I bought it. Is there anything I may be over looking?

Drop the driveshaft and grease the slip yolk. If it has no grease it will cause a clunk on take off. Mine did the same thing.

Yea an honestly that should fix it. If possible use the motorcraft stuff in the link below. I doubt your output shaft is broken. I would think the input shaft would break way before the output shaft would.
