The doors used to lock when I was rolling for a few seconds without braking. They don't do it any more :dunno:
I have an appointment set for my 1st oil change and service, the recall on the "FUEL TANK STOPPER BRACKET INSTALLATION" and I also put down this issue of the doors not auto locking anymore. Anyone else experience the doors not auto locking after they were auto locking?
i know i can shut that function off through my computer. i have an 08 lariat. did you mess with your buttons? i don't know if you can do it on older ones.
i see now you have an 08. it's in your computer on the dash. not sure i remember what buttons but you go into the options menu and it can be enabled and disabled. you might have to look it up in the book but thats where its at.
Yeah, I have an 08 job #2 F250 King Ranch, Power Stroke.
I haven't changed any settings (not on purpose at least) but I will see what options I can find.
Autolock feature (if equipped)
The autolock feature will lock all the doors when:
• all the doors are closed,
• the ignition is in the 3 (ON) position,
• you shift into any gear putting the vehicle in motion, and
• the vehicle attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h) for greater
than 2 seconds.
The autolock feature repeats when:
• any door is opened then closed while the ignition is in the 3 (ON)
position and the vehicle speed is 9 mph (15 km/h) or lower, and
• the vehicle then attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h) for
greater than 2 seconds.
Deactivating/activating autolock feature
There are four methods to enable/disable this feature:
• Through your authorized dealer,
• by using a power door unlock/lock procedure,
• using a keypad procedure (if equipped), or
• or by using the instrument cluster message center (if equipped). Refer
to Optional message center in the Driver controls chapter.
Note: The autolock feature can be activated/deactivated independently
of the autounlock feature.
Power door lock switch autolock enable/disable procedure
Before starting, ensure the ignition is in the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and
all vehicle doors are closed. You must complete Steps 1–5 within 30
seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure
needs to be repeated, wait a minimum of 30 seconds before beginning
again.
1. Place the key in the ignition and
turn the ignition to the 3 (ON)
position.
2. Press the power door unlock
control on the door panel three
times.
3. Turn the ignition from the 3 (ON)
position to the 1 (OFF/LOCK)
position.
4. Press the power door unlock control on the door panel three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to the 3 (ON) position. The horn will chirp one
time to confirm programming mode has been entered and is active.
Google is my friend. Now I will try the programming/deprogramming tomorrow morning!
Just went out and scrolled through the "SETUP" and it showed: AUTO LOCKS
ON <OFF>
I guess that is why it wasn't working! What puzzles me is how it got turned off? Maybe my 23 month old did it some how
he looks like trouble. the little scrappy ones are the ones you got to look out for
