White Smoke, stock truck, first regen
2010 just rolled 36K miles 100% stock truck. I have put 4K miles on the truck in about 2 months this past weekend did about 950 miles in about 3 days. I have noticed a random puff of white smoke (and notice an exhaust smell with windows down) a few times over the past 2 months, but had about 4-5 of them on this last trip. They would be brief (10 secs) normally when on an on ramp. Then while cruising I had my first "cleaning exhaust filter" icon pop up for about 15 minutes. (didnt notice any smoke during the cleaning) (was running on shell bio fuel when this all happened)
I try my best to always run #2 but have ran some bio when nothing else was available. I did run 4 bottles of stanadyne (blue bottle) but havent in the last 5 or so tanks. (saw less white puffs when using stanadyne)
I am guessing the white puffs are passive regens??? Just sent my first oil sample to Blackstone just waiting the results.
Is this normal? Should I take her in to the dealer? To be honest I don't trust the local dealer in Nashville to know what they are doing.
