Truck Won't Start

Today I installed a set of backup lights onto the truck. I found the wire that feeds the backup lights to the trailer plug and tapped into it.
When I put it into reverse the lights work great.
Truck turns over good so it is not battery/starter. It will just not start.
When I let it sit for 30 seconds I get a symbol looks like a wrench on the display.
Engine turns over fine. Tried both keys also.

Checked all fuses.
No issues found under hood or in cabin…Unhooked both batteries and left them unhooked for 10 minutes.
Pressed the fuel reset on passenger side.
Still same problem
Any thoughts?

That is exactly how I have my lights hooked up on my truck. I doubt it is related to the lights. I just don't know near enough about the '08's to even make that a true statement though. Hope ya get it fixed up!

Yes the light comes on and I try to start when it has gone out...If I leave it sit with ignition on for about 30 sec. the wrench shows up in the display.
