6.4 Gaining oil and smoking and laundry list of other problems
My wife has a 2008 Ford F-250 with the 6.4 diesel I went to change the oil and it was way up on the dipstick so I took it to the dealer because it is still under warranty they are telling me this is normal especially during the winter months when you let it idle to warm up they are saying that while it is sitting there idling it will try to regen and pump diesel in has anyone heard of this i thought the only time it would try to regen was after driving over a certain speed limit for so long and that is why it is gaining oil they say i need to lower my oil change intervals from 5000 to 4000 i have a hard time believing thats going to help much considering it gained a full gallon I had them give me a good sample when they changed it so i can send it off he said it is gaining the diesel through the rings don't that mean the rings should be replaced is ford just trying to get out of warrantying this???? It has also been smoking real bad he said there is a tsb out about the smoking for the intercooler ford has a fix for it but they are not recalling it and it is not covered under my warranty they want 600 just for the intercooler not installed does anyone know about this and if so is there a good aftermarket one for a better price i know banks has a full kit but it is more because of everything you get he also told me he seen i done my own oil changes normally and told me not to use aftermarket filters i have heard you didnt want to use napa but i use baldwin he said they have had a bunch of problems because of this anyone heard of this also heard a rumor h&s got outlawed is this true if so is ther anywhere you can still get it at was really wanting to do a delete just hadn't gotten to it yet thanks for any help
