Help a Newbie

I am looking at my first Diesel. It is an 08 (6.4) 2X4 with 300,000+ miles. Overall, it is in great shape. It looks brand new. Someone definitely took care of it. It drove well....

What should I look for when I make a thorough inspection of the vehicle, and what should be the first couple things I do to the truck? (other than oil / fluid filters and changes). This will be a work truck, so I am leaning towards making it economical / reliable...not a race truck.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

+300000 miles??? wow!
Personally I'll not buy anything with more than 100k miles. (too much can go wrong with a worn out vehicle).

Of course is my personal opinion!

I would agree. 300k transmission 4 wheel drive. All seals. Bearings shocks the price would have to be awsome. And a clean oil sample/test.

It is a 2 wheel drive truck. Wheel bearings were replaced and the brakes were done on the vehicle inspection by the dealer.

Oasis report had no incidents, carfax is clean. Tranny was "serviced" at 190,000 miles.

Thanks for the insight so far.
