blowing lower intercooler boot
im on a 13 hour trip to mexico pulling a light load behind me,
I keep blowing my lower intercooler boot Ive stopped and bout another one from the dealer and its still doing it. What can i do to stop this from happening? truck has 160K, intake and muffler, no tune. |

Before you put it back on clean the oil off the boot and the intercooler and apply some hairspray to it. Let the hairspray get a little tacky and tighten the clamp real well.

I had the same problem! Mine would blow at about 31 PSI. I did the same and stopped and bought a new one, only to have it blow again and again.
I even double clamped it at one point. NADP pointed me to Diesel Site, and they have a full boot kit, in it is a MUCH better, thicker, stronger boot. I haven't had an issue since and have hit 40+ psi pulling my 40' toy hauler at times with no issues at all! |
