6.4 engine miss

Anyone experience their 6.4 miss most noticeable at idle. Like every fifteen to twenty seconds It drops 40-50 Rpm's for a split second. I changed fuel filters been running diesel Kleen through it. DPF deleted egr still functions. 118k on the clock. It seems to be idling rough all around like vibrates and rattles things inside the cab somewhat. If you have a drink in the cup holder it leaves little ripples in it. ???

you could have an injector going out. do you have any way of looking at the short term fuel trims of the injectors?

No I'm not exactly sure what you mean? I have a race evolution. It threw a over boost code the other day but that's it. It still runs strong just has that miss its starting to make me nervous.

The injectors in the 6.4 don't use engine oil like the 6.0 does if I'm not mistaken to fire do they? Thanks for the help.

the only scanner i know of to check the fuel trim is the ids at a ford dealership. 6.4 is high pressure common rail. so no oil to fire the injectors.

No ticking it just misses. Like its going to die for a split second and shakes the truck just a bit like you can hear and feel it. I thought maybe egr valve was stuck or sticking. I pulled that black plastic cover off the egr valve and was able to push the shaft down and it comes back up.
