AirRaid 400-214 Install

Just installed the Airraid kit on my 08 F250 6.4L. I took it for a spin tonight and the noise....holy cow. When I get the turbo spun up and then let off the gas, in about a half second there is a ksssshhhhhh sound coming from under the dash on the passenger side in the vicinity of the airraid box. Kind of a sucking sound for about a second, but only after getting OFF the pedal. What the heck is that noise? Never heard it with the factory box. Anyone?

I will call Air Raid tomorrow, but if this is normal, I may have to try somthing else.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That sux....its very noticeable. So was that the point of the hose that comes from the original airbox, runs to the center area of the dash and down behind the turbos a foot or so? Any chance that was where the boosted air used to come out with the factory box and thus was not as audibly noticeable? The Airraid box has no such hose.

It really bugs me.

Thats alot of the problem with the factory air box.... They build them to muffel those kind of sounds, but in the process they restrict alot of air....

Looks like you are right. I called Air Raid and also had someone take a look at my installation and everyone indicates I am just hearing more turbo noise since the box is open topped now and I just have to deal with it. I will try it for awhhile. Maybe I need to go ahead and open up my exhaust system and that sound might overcome the whining and sucking of the intake box. At least that sound I like.

Thanks.

Yeah that noise is normal, sounds cool though......opening up the exhaust isn't going to do anything until you get rid of the DPF and that is a whole other animal, oh and that noise only gets louder if you open up the exhaust

Well yes, but only if you mess with the DPF. The DPF is a serious cork on the trucks performance. Once you remove it, you allow the motor to move more air out and therefore allow to bring more air in
