Trouble filling up my tank

I've been experiencing difficulty in filling up my truck. When I put the nozzle into the tank and start the flow, the nozzle immediately shuts off. I can hear the pipe feeding the tank fill up almost immediately. I've tried different orientations of the nozzle (no "that's what she said" jokes please) with the same results. The only way to fill is to barely squeeze the handle and have the diesel trickle in.

Any thoughts on what might be causing the problem? Is it something that can be fixed in a driveway versus taking it to a shop?

Check your vent hose that runs next to the fill hose, if it is kinked or sagging so that fuel sits in it then that will cause the fill nozzle to keep shutting off.

Tank

I checked the vent pipe and it had no unusual bends and/or kinks. I'm beginning to wonder if someone put something in my tank although I've heard it may be a blocked vent or something like that.
