Looking into purchasing a 2008 6.4 F250 Please Help!

hey, everyone i am looking into purchasing a 08 6.4 fx4 extended cab with 121,000 miles on it. i am new to this whole truck in general and have been doing some research on them and have been hearing good and bad stories so far and just wanted to get some other opinions on these trucks and what usally happens around this mileage. So i took the truck for a test drive the other day for the first time and was averaging 8.7 mpg which didn't feel right to me because of all the posts on hear i read with people towing and getting better mileage don't remember if they had there truck tuned and dpf delete but the one i am looking at is bone stock. and also one more thing i noticed while the A/c was on i was getting a smell of fuel coming through the vents and i read on here that it can be a leak of some sort. any type of help or answers are greatly appreciated thanks
