Hydroboost problem?

08 F-250, 48k.

ATF or Power steering fluid is leaking on the drivers floor. It was just a small leak but when I reached up there and poked at the spot where the brake piston rod enters the firewall, I got a small handful of more fluid. So it's not just a drip here and there.

So as far as I can tell the hydroboost unit sits between the brake master cylinder and firewall and of course it runs power steering fluid. So does this mean mine is shot? Should it be replaced or is a rebuild a possibility?

Last, if so might this be a DIY job? I'm pretty handy with cars but I don't have air tools or other stuff that helps working with bigger truck parts.

Didn't have time or a place to work this out myself. Dealer replaced hydroboost unit at $410 + 200 labor. I have no idea why this thing failed at 48k miles.
