Truck smoking while saying cleaning diesel filter?

Is this normal? My truck just started smoking today and it said on the dash cleaning diesel filter or something to that effect. Is this normal for it to smoke and how long does it last before it goes back to normal? thanks

Mine never smoked when it was in regen. But some have said that there's do, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine would regen around 10 miles.

Mine smoked a couple time while in regen. Usually it only did it for a few seconds. I hear it's normal.

Mine would smoke so bad cars behind me would have to pull off the road. It would last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and if you shut the truck down before it was finished the whole cycle started over. Finally took it into Ford one day while it was in regen, they said it was normal and that the truck was not meant for "bombing around town" imagine that, a $50,000 truck that I cant use in town. I laughed, bought a delete and tuner and never looked back.
