sct livewire firmware problems

i am helping a friend, he has a 08 f250 6.4L with the sct livewire 9600 tuner. he tried to use the sct software to update the unit but after 1.5 hours it had not updated, well he disconnected it and think that my have created some problems. i went to help him, so i reinstalled the software, downloaded the latest firmware, and tunes. after i updated the unit with the new firmware, it states incorrect firmware install the correct firmware. i downloaded it twice and installed it again, still the same results.
sct would not answer the phones yesterday nor today, so that is how i got involved. is there anyone that knows how to fix this?

THE 9600 wont do the 6.4 you need 9621 however i have a 9621 and am in need of a 9600 so if you guys want to set up a trade let me know

wonder how was it working for the past 2 years on his truck? he needed to update the software because he deleted the egr system.
