Tranny relearn process

I'm getting ready to pull the Black AmEx ( yeah right) out and lay my balls on the table. I'm going to be deleting soon (XRT, DP Back and CAI are on the agenda) and am doing my due diligence in research. All still under warranty.

I have a quick question about the tranny relearn process. Reading a few threads on here there are a few many of you who didnt do the relearn, just let the tranny learn itself over a few days. For the guys that have gone this route, do you have a recommended engine and tranny tune you started out with? Any issues with this approach?

Also, if I go the route of actually doing the relearn, for those of you who have done it out of the gate, did you have any problems? Blown HGs? Any Issues? Did you do the relearn with a certian tranny tune/engine tune? I'm worried if I go WOT on this thing in the relearn, with the Hot tune like H&S recommends, I'm going to blow something.

My main goal is I baby the hell out of this thing, just looking for better gas mileage and more longevity on the engine. I.E. getting rid of the EPA chokehold.

Thanks for the help gentlemen.

Trans relearn is recommended when changing from one tune to another. I run the 210 and have never done the relearn with excellent results. As I understand, the relearn process is more for the 250 and bigger tunes. I've heard the bigger tunes will eventually figure themselves out if you don't let them relearn.

When you change to a new tune, it erases all of the control modules. You may notice that the trans shifts a little funny right after a reload. it will eventually figure itself out and smooth out, say in 200-300 miles.

You'll be fine.

Any problems in the relearn process?

I dont want to go WOT and blow the heads off. I told myself once I install I'm going to start off with the mild or wild tunes. We will see how long my nervous system lasts. haha.
