Cold Air Blowing when heating

I have an '08. I live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the Mountains. On cold days, set in Auto, I turn the heat up and the cab heats up. Once it reaches the temp, instead of slowing the fan down and pumping heat, It turns to cold air and the fan turns up and just pumps cold air out. I have to turn it up to 85-90 to get any sort of heat. Mean while it is 1o degress out. Any suggestions.
