High Idle Mod - Not working
Hey everyone,
I had the high idle mod done for the past few months, problem free. Easy DIY. I used a 0-50k pot and does wonders in the cold climates. I have since been wrenching on ol bessy quite a bit with other issues and in the mix I have somehow messed something up. I have installed a Edge Revolution CTS Racing tuner - Not believed to be my problem since it has worked after I put it in regularly until.... I did the by-pass on my clutch (6spd m/t). I have been having issues with my clutch and waiting to get it changed, in the mean time, I by-passed the switch so that I don't have to press the clutch when it is -30deg C outside (scared to pop the hydraulics). Works great except - Since I was under there my high-idle mod has not been working. Also, I noticed last night that neither was my cruise control. I have 4 wires on my clutch switch - which 2 for the clutch by-pass and 2 for the cruise? At least that is what I believe. I have double checked my connections and they are all ok - not grounding anywhere. I re-did all my connections for the high-idle mod and checked that my upfitter was putting out 12v right to the tie point into my harness (to the PTO wire ? Maybe, i can't remember which one - can find out if necessary). One weird thing - my idle feature actually DID work last night the first time I tried it after re-doing all my connections - thought it was fixed but shortly after turning it off - I turned it on again (after cycling the power to the engine) and it did not work - truck didn't even move. So, I am lost and looking for help once again....thanks!!! 2008 F350 6.4L Diesel 6spd M/T High Idle Mod Clutch by-pass Evolution CTS Racing Tuner Last edited by Sn00ky; 03-04-2011 at 08:25 AM. |
