Radiator broke dealer wont cover!
2008 F250 Job 2 bonestock
Bring truck to dealership for coolant leak. Truck has 35500 on the ticker. I am second owner. First owner purchased in Sept 2007. So dealership says over the phone dont worry we will take care of you. Well they are not now. Since I am second owner cant cover under warranty. But if they pull the stats out and see they caused it they can do it. $1500 just for radiator repair. Extra $500 to check stats. So I call the dealer where it came from for repairs. The last time in shop was for low power. They changed the top temp sensor and back to normal. Could the temp sensor have caused the radiator problem. Now the big question what should I do. 1. Let dealer do stats and hope they caused the problem. 2. Call ford public relations and complainto see what they do. 3. Just fix radiator and hope nothing else goes wrong |

It does not matter if you are the 2nd or 5th owner, the vehicle is covered for 3/36,000 period. With that being said you say the 1st owner bought it Sept 2007 that would be 3 years 3 mos. which is out of warranty.

You are correct, but when the dealer says bring it in we will take care of it because this happens all the time. Then they dont, makes me kinda wonder.
But, I decided not to do thermostats and see what happens. We will see how long it last. |

I had a very similar thing except the ugly part of this. I purchased truck with 25k. 2nd owner. I didn't have any records up to that point. I decided to go in with questions like what do they show as done. They ran an Oasis and it showed nothing. I decided I would buck up and change the oil, fuel filters and something else. I asked them to look at anything else they could think of that might have a warning sign. They called me and said the coolant was a little low. I asked why that was and they said that there could be a leak. Possibly a bad radiator. I said I wanted it replaced! They said it should be covered under warranty. I said regardless, replace it and so they did. $0 charge. I think maybe another Ford dealer will be more conscientious(sp) about it and do the right thing.

I hope they do fix it. Just that Ford is being a real pain to the dealers. I had a torn door seal and was only about six months old, I took it in and they had to take pics. of the torn seal and odometer and send to FoMoCo for warranty coverage, so ridiculous, they did fix it but something as minor as that and the dealer had to jump through hoops.
