Knocking Noise??

I have heard a knocking sound about 2 different times when i was at idle in gear or parked sounds like the engine compartment inside the truck but when i pop the hood all i hear is normal motor sound! The noise sounds like someone knocking on the dash with a knuckle not metal i even tried the heat controls thought it may be a stuck vent door cyl. the sound stays pretty steady nothing i did made it change just comes and goes! Anyone else run into this sound ???

Does it sound like the passenger side lower part of the dash? It could be the blend door. I've heard alot of people complain about the door making noise.

My truck does this too. I am bringing the truck in next week to have them repair the 'blend door' issue. There have been enough folks dealing with this issue, so Ford SD mechanics ought to be familiar with this by now.

Let me know how that all works out for you and see if you can find out what the issue is like a certain part!

I have the same noise. I can't wait to hear what it is, it has been driving me crazy.

Mine is really starting to do it now; whether the AC is on or off, it will reach a point where the noise will be present much of the time. Instead of putting the truck in this week for warranty work, I am going to wait for a couple more weeks because there are a couple of other issues I am keeping an eye on; such as the rear cab upper brake-light allows water to leak into the cab whenever it rains; so they may be replacing my roof-liner as well. Plus there are some other noises and creaks I am hearing at highway speeds.
