check engine light?

When i turn my key to the ON position...before i start the truck, you know all the lights come on and go away...but the engine light stays on...once i start the truck they go away...could that mean i am throwing a code? should i get it scanned?

no the check engine light and battery light will stay on until you crank and start the vehicle. as long as the check engine light does not remain on while the engine is running, you should be ok. If you want to check for DTCs anyway, you can, but like I said, everything is working fine it seems.
