Brake pedal Click???
2010 F350
Pulled into my driveway and put my foot on the brake to put the truck in park. When I released the brake pedal ...there is now a loud clicking noise when I push on or release the brake pedal. The really odd thing about the noise is that, it is a loud clicking noise with the truck running and a faint clicking with the truck off. What the HECK is this all about?

Got my head down under the dash, the noise is actually coming from the steering column. After a little more experimenting I found it would only make the noise with the truck running in park...Figured out it is the switch that requires you to have your foot on the brake pedal before you can take it out of park.

yeah the shift interlock solenoid makes a loud click when its energized and de-energized. the click is the plunger touching the contacts inside the solenoid. usually when they go bad, it will gradually get louder, most of the time its not all of a sudden so i'd say its ok.
