"Rough & Sluggish" in Passing gear.?????

I've recently noticed when I go into passing gear, the truck gets "sluggish" - "rough". Smoke pours out until rpms get high enough ang gets thru it.......... Any advice ????? Truck is 09 6.4...... 22k miles.

Seems like this is a pretty common issue. TSB ??? CAC ??? How about the 9-19-10 flash for the '10 models. Other posts say they got in increase in mileage when they had the new flash done.

What is it suppose to accomplish?
Do dealers charge for these?
Do I need to ask for a specific flash or just the newest for my truck (2010 F350, build date of March 2010)

Not real sure. The info was listed in one these forums. The 9-19-10 flash is supposed to be the latest prog. FORD has for our trucks. Stated it helped with overall prefor. of truck, and even gained a couple of mpg's.... I'll take every extra mile I can get... (AVG 15-15.5). The thread said it was covered under the 5yr-100k mi. warranty.

You average 15-15.5 with a 6.4?? are you stock? I'm lucky if i get 12 normal driving with my 08 I use to get that with my 6.0 but not near that with this new one.
Curious if there has been any new flashes that are worth the money since this thread was last posted on.

I have a 2008 f350 4x4 that i get 16.8 mpg on with no performance upgrades except egr delete.
