08 regen every 125 miles

I tried two different fuel stations and for the last 650 miles i have gone into regen 4 times. Want to get DPF delete and SCT but i want to make sure truck isnt having issues first.

Check the MAF sensor KOEO KHZ reading, compare it to one on a known good truck.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust/intake by chance?

Most of the time the only reasons I see for frequent regeneration are MAF sensors having "in range failures", which in turn causes excessive EGR operation, or, the sensor's reading itself screws with the air in vs. air out relationship between the DPF pressure sensor (air out) and MAF reading (air in).

Or again, back to EGR... A sticking EGR can cause this too, but will nearly ALWAYS set codes.

Any results to this? I have an 08 and I regen roughly every 150-170 miles. This equates to approximately 2x per fill up.......Seems excessive to me but Ford says is within normal range.

sounds like you have an internal oil leak that will cause a regen like yours. take it to ford and have them look at it. accessive oil in the exhaust will cause the filter to plug faster and giv bad reading to the computer causing more regeneration

Mine is regening every 150-175 miles (about 2 twice a tank) and has been for about the past 6 months. My mpg has dropped from 12 to 10. It's really starting to get aggravating. It's been to the dealer..... all is "normal" so they say.

time to go to a new dealer or pull the exhaust off going into the can and see if you have oil in there or if its clogged.

My dad is having the same problem with his 08 ever since he bought it new. He is averaging 11-12mpg. His truck is completely stock, and has been to a couple dealers numerous times and is told that everything is "normal" Doesn't seem too "normal" to me

regen

My 08 doesn't regen anymore. It regened all the time this summer the dealer replaced a sensor and it worked fine until the high preesure fuel pump went out along with the power control module and #7 injector. They sealed all injectors again. All the injectors were replaced last year along with the high preesure oil pump. I took it to the dealer and they said they can't find anything wrong with it. It's been 2100 miles since it has regened. Does anyone know why?

I have been tracking mine for the past month. I have noticed that if I let it run a full cycle that it will go about 200 - 250 mile before the next regen. If it doesnt complete the full cycle then it will run again around 150 miles. I am ready to delete this thing!! I only have 6,000 miles and I have been tired of the regens for about the past 6,000 miles.. haha.
