Whinning Noise, Help!
I've had my '08 now for about 4 months. It was stock when I purchased it with 71,000 miles. It now has 84,000 of which 11,000 of those have come with intake, intercooler pipe, air dog, exhaust, and Spartan 275. I don't really drive it that hard but I do get on it every once in a while. I've never launched it from 0 or even gone to the track. That should cover the back-ground info.
About a week ago I've noticed a whinning noise that seems to be coming from the back of the truck, but can't pin point it. At first I thought it was the tires since they are low on tread (going to replace next week) but not bald at all. It is speed sensitive, the faster you go, the louder it gets. Even my wife noticed it when she got in. It doesn't change at all with different road surfaces. Any ideas what this could be? Could it be tires or could it be a differential problem or TC problem? My TC when I take-off from a stop will slip anywhere from 684-1050, but once it locks it doesn't slip. It is not coming from the location of the transmission. What could this be? Rearend?
Please help, it's driving me crazy and I'd like to not have to take it to the dealer (Extended warranty) since I would have to take all the mods off the truck.
