No Start

Howdy boys,

Today was just sitting and idling and what do ya know the check engine light comes on. So i start heading back to our shop get a red light and just as the truck stops she shuts off. Go to restart and she won't turn over.

Anywho, get it towed back to our shop. Let it sit for about an hour and what do ya know. She fires up. Engine light is still on so i figured this would be a good time to see what DTC(s) she is throwing.

I get a P200E - Catalyst System Over Temperature (Bank 1)
and a P2033 - P2033 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor 2

So, is this inline for the EGT 13 problem or.....??

The DPF was replaced about 20000kms ago.

The truck is a 2008 F-450 C&C

EDIT* BTW the truck never went into limp mode & the SCT let me clear the codes.

Maybe your DPF is clogged, Take it to the highway and drive fast to clean it out

Ok...took it for a good long ride. It seems like it wants to go into regen but for some reason can't. The cleaning dpf message comes up and you can actually hear the truck try to do it's thing but it lasts maybe only 10 seconds. Shortly after this i get the pull over to a safe area NOW warning and the truck shuts down


It's a CRAZY I tell ya.

Anywho, off to teh dealer tomorrow...hopefully it's not teh dpf as the truck is no longer under warranty

Since you are out of warranty, pull the dpf out, inspect it and its sensors, reinstall and take a ride if it looks good. But since it is reading EGTs high, it may be stopping regen.

The warranty is 5 years 100,000 miles, if you gone over 100,000 miles. I would buy a DPF DELETE TUNER KIT & be getting better MPG & POWER

Yeah...that would be nice but it's a commercial vehicle and requires regular emission checks

Truck is STILL sitting at Ford awaiting to get looked at.

Where is the EGT bank 1 sensor 2 located? One of the techs was saying something about the cooling system?? I thought #2 was between the cat and DPF?

EGT 12 sounds like it went for a poop, but I'd still put my money on EGT13 for the P0200.

What dealer is this at?
