Broken Drive Shaft Center Support
Exactly what the title says. I broke my drive shaft center support on my '08. I am running a full exhaust, intercooler pipe, intake, and Spartan 275 tune at the time it broke. I was missing one bolt and the flange broke in the center of where the bolt goes thru. The other bolt was still bolted in. I was lucky enough to be right by an automotive store and bought a new bolt and big washer and bolted everything back in and drove away. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone make a stronger aftermarket version or are we stuck with what appears to be a weak link? I am trying to find a stronger piece rather than purchase the same ford piece to only have it possibly fail on me again. Any help would help. TIA.

Thinking maybe you lost that bolt at some point, and that caused the whole works to weaken or stress the only ONE fastener that's holding that entire driveshaft in it.
Never seen one break before. Is yours the aluminum one or is it an early build with the steel bracket? |
