Question New to Ford, And worried already

I bought a 2010 F250 on 6/23/2010. In 7 days i have put 800 give or take miles on the truck. I love my new truck. Now the worry. On 2 seperate occasions at 35 or 40 mph i have hit the gas and nothing just kinda studders and shakes and wont move. Let off the gas and press again and goes no problems. I work offshore so i was on the way to work last night. I was beside an 18 wheeler with a car coming on to the interstate @ appr. 75mph. I go to get on the gas so the 18 wheeler can move over and it would not go. The motor eventually sounded like it redlined and it just wouldnt go. I traded in a perfectly good truck and im just hoping i havent made a mistake. What should i do?

I am new to Fords and Diesles so this is a new experience to me. But IMO seems to be a tranfercase or tranny issue. But i am far from a mechanic so i am looking for advice

Take her back to the dealer. You say it sounded like it redlined, but did it? Did the tach redline?

I am not sure man i had my music a little loud and by the time i heard the motor rev up i let off and by the time i look down i didnt notice anything weird RPM wise. WIth the situation of trying to move out the way of the 18 wheeler my reactions didnt look over everything...

Oh ok, well i would take her straight back to the dealer and see if you can get it to replicate the problem.

Um, yes i did. Are you refering to the fact you work offshore?

Think he might be talking about the 800 or so miles he put on it. He should still get it checked out.

Ok, well i didn't mean bring it back to give it back. But on a truck that new the dealer should be the only ones looking at it. So i am really not sure what he meant by did i read his 1st post. Its also hard to try and help diagnose something over the comp, especially when the truck is so new and i haven't heard of any issues with drivelines on 6.4s.

I have a truck at my shop doing the exact same thing right now. Does your truck smoke at all when it's carrying on like this?

I am working on getting recordings of the concern with the VDR right now, so I will be able to give you some direction perhaps, once I get some recordings.

This truck is a 10, with about 24k miles on it.
