Nav Unit Problem
I seem to have a major problem with the Nav unit, it first started yesterday when leaving the dealer after routine maintenance, I went to change the view on the screen, and it wouldn't allow me to do anything, it wouldn't recognize me pushing the screen. Next I pulled out of the dealers' lot to find a place to turn around to go back, and none of the buttons on the side of the unit would work and the volume controls weren't functioning. So I got back to the dealer the service manager came out looked it over, shut down the truck and started it back up, and it seemed like it would work for 5-7 secs and then the touch screen would stop working, but the audio controls were back and the buttons on the side worked.
So fast forward to today, I was heading to work, tried using the bluetooth calling and the system for awhile now will automatically put each call I make into privacy mode and then I just push the button on the screen to disable it and it will work, well when I went to push the button the screen just froze, I cancelled my call and redialed it and the same thing happened. After that, I was listening to music and lost control of my steering wheel controls, and had to stop the truck and shut it down and start it back up, because I couldn't lower the volume for an incoming call.
I haven't got a clue what has caused the problem but I do think the entire HU is dead or dying at least. I am going back in tomorrow to see if they can fix it. I really need the Nav, because I use it for work everyday, and the bluetooth is just a nice thing to have, because it is a pita holding the phone up to my ear, but it is also illegal so I'm hoping that the service guys can either fix it, or at least it wont take a long time to get a new HU.
