OK, guy's! Here we go! I have an 09 Ford F-450 Loaded. Stock 6.4, 4.33 Rear. I have been blowing lower inter-cooler hoses 9 in the last 2 months. Took it to the dealer he said they would order one. Also the truck regen has been shutting the truck down at stop lights if in regen mode. I was loaded with a total of 29,000 LBS including the trucks weight. I have done this since the truck was new. Last week I was on I-40 when I heard the pop under the hood then damn near cause a wreck behind me due to the smoke coming out of the exhaust I pulled over immediately opened the hood to find that the turbo's were on fire!!!!! I put the fire out. For some reason the truck is showing no codes? But now has a blown motor! I had to go buy a new truck while out of state to get this one back home! a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Big Horn! UgH!!!!! This truck is my living! Help. I have 43000 miles on it and this happens! A Buddy of mine just blew his motor a month ago at 46000 miles due to coolant fluids in the motor....

It seems like the 6.4 is a POS that likes to blow up

Did they deny you or your buds warranty?

sorry to hear about your luck, but your statement is rather convoluted. starting off with nine blown hoses, waiting for one from the dealer, than towing thousands of pounds, your turbo catching fire, searching for codes, buying a new truck to get home
![]() i don`t mean to say that your fibbing but it seems hard to swallow

Yes, 9 blown lower inter-cooler hose's while out on the road. Kenworth sold the best hose to me and cut to length for the lower. Took it to the dealer when I got back in town and they said it was common for the hoses to bust! "The Dealer put one on order" I thought I blew a tire it was that loud the lost all power! My EGT's went from 715 to 1850's in 1.2 seconds! Sorry, Kaptain Howdie New to this forum! I am a Repo Agent and own all my Fords. This one carrys a 53ft wedge car hauler with 4 cars..... I am not a Dodge man but Damn thing pulled the trailer the truck and my wife's car home like it was nothing! My ford weight is 12'900 LBS WET! without the trailer. Love the Ford's!

That's crazy if it's true.. I could see it happening for sure. Heck, turbos see extreme temps..
But, Explain "turbos were on fire" for me.. I'm not doubting you, I just want an explanation so I can wrap my head around it.. (And then try to get mine to do it.. lol!) |
