Trouble code

Can someone tell me more about the P2428 Exhaust Gas Temperature Too High trouble code? It just poped up tonight. I do not have a tuner, truck is stock except for lift and tires.

EGT's were too high like it says, usually happens when running hard or in regen.

Can I just clear the code and see if it comes up again, or should I take it in? I had just taken off from the house in it after not driving it for a couple days when the light came on.

You should be alright. Now just get a fooler and delete that DPF!
